Franklin Real Estate | Nashville Real Estate Market report for August | Less of a Decline in Home Sales is a Positive Sign
Earlier this month the Nashville Business Journal reported that the homes sales for August 2009 were down by 9.2% from August 2008, but that drop is a good sign as it is less than the drop in past months. The article states that it is a good sign that 2,000 or more single family homes have sold per the Middle Tennessee Multiple Listing Service (Realtracs) in each of the last three months. From this chart you can see that the 2009 sales have been consistently gaining on the 2008 sales volume. The 2009 volume is nearly half of the 2006 volume and shows a picture of the housing market struggle as a NEW normal is defined.
