Community Work Day at The Park At Harlinsdale Farm is March 5, 2016 and you can help.
If you have time to lend a hand and a desire to serve the Franklin community then this Saturday the horses would certainly benefit form you dedicating a few hours to help save the Mare Barn at Harlinsdale. This Saturday March 5, 2016 is being dedicated as Community Work day and from 8 am to 4 pm, the Franklin Parks Staff along with Franklin volunteers of all ages will be working to rejuvinate the horse barn.
The horses are returning to Harlinsdale but they need a safe and fitting place to return to. This historic barn is in need of some rejuvination. The footing needs to be sufficient and the cladding on the exterior needs to have some boards repaired or replaced so that it can be prepped for painting. This is just the next step in the development of The Park at Harlinsdale farm.
You don't have to be a horse lover or even a carpenter to lend a hand. All the supplies will be provided so you need not bring anything however, you are welcome to bring shovels and rakes, along with gloves, closed-toed shoes and eye protection.
Last year Harlinsdale Park served as the venue for a huge 2 day music festival (Pilgrimage Musci and Cultural Festival).
and is open daily for the use of the dog park, walking trails or just enjoying the Franklin scenery.
