Keep your head in the CLOUD and your business on track?

Keep your head in the CLOUD and your business on track?

"In The Clouds" was a term that used to have the connotation that you were unproductive or daydreaming!

Clouds were not something you usually hope for, they tend to mean rain or a storm is coming to ruin your outdoor plans.

So how is it that my business revolves around THE CLOUD now?  And yours probably should too.

THE CLOUD is used in reference to a network of servers that are open to the public, some have doors so an access key is required from the software or site that accesses that particular area of the open network.

So CLOUD computing basically removes a server from within your own building and places it in someone else’s building and you can access it through the web.  Once this gained traction developers started writing more unique software to do different things with this capability on your laptops, smart phones, and tablets.  And even hardware developers like KODAK, created printers and other hardware to use this CLOUD feature to expand business capabilities.  Take a look at your business and see if you are already using the cloud and you may not even know it as it is covered up with APPS on your smart phone or concealed in a fancy GUI on a website.

So how have I integrated the CLOUD into my business and how could I have done a better job of it to save time and money and headache?

I currently am an iProduct user, so I have an iPad, and iPhone, and then my Dell D820 Laptop.  I integrate our State Association (TAR) product Transaction Desk to produce all of my offers and contracts.  They are immediately then copied into my DROPBOX account.  DropBox is a CLOUD app on my iPhone, and iPad, with immediate access to the same content for all of my team members on their devices as well as all of our PC’s.  I even leverage SignMyPAd app so If I am with the customer I can have them sign the document right on my iPad.   Thus, never using a single piece of paper to get the document prepared and sent over to the opposing agent.   But life isn’t always that convenient.  I can think of numerous times when the customer is not at my location and where I CLOUD printer would have been great to get the printout to them for INK TO PAPER signing.

Besides the customer integration it would be convenient for me to send the documents to the office printer and notify the administrator that the office copy of the binding contract was waiting for her.  Saving the step to email it for her to print.  When you consider that repetitive step she does for over 50 agents and the time opening the email, downloading the file and printing, can all be saved – we could become a more productive office on that alone.    Kodak keeps innovating ways to help REALTORS and is a strong supporter of our business model, and for that I am appreciative.  Next I want more CLOUD Digital cameras to reduce time from SNAP to publish for images…

The CLOUD is integral to my business.  Keep an eye on security!, Investigate new apps and new websites before jumping in with your business on the line, but THE CLOUD is no longer a negative word and it is here to stay!
